Teknotherm to deliver HVAC-systems to world’s largest hydrogen ship

Teknotherm to deliver HVAC-systems to world’s largest hydrogen ship. Teknotherm is proud to be a part of this groundbreaking project for the world’s largest hydrogen ships. The Norwegian ship owner Torghatten Nord has chosen the Norwegian shipyard Myklebust Verft for the construction of two hydrogen ferries, which will carry up to 120 cars on Norway’s longest ferry route between Bodø and Lofoten.

The ferries will be the world’s largest hydrogen ships, and will be bunkered with hydrogen produced in Bodø

Teknotherm has been working in cooperation with the designer Norwegian Ship Design on technical solutions for the HVAC- and cooling systems on these ferries. These solutions are also integrated into the HVAC system design, to optimize the use of thermal energy from the fuel cell system into heating the vessels.

We look forward to a continued and close cooperation with Torghatten Nord AS, The Norwegian Ship Design Company and Myklebust Verft AS. And thank you to Myklebust Verft for thrusting us to deliver one of the most complex HVAC systems ever delivered for a ferry project.
